The UCT Graduate School of Business’ Solution Space has selected nine startups to join its 12-week Venture Exploitation Programme.
The programme, which is currently underway and started on 11 November, is the second phase of the Solution Space e-Track Programme which is run in partnership with the MTN Group.
The three-phase e-Track Programme aims to accelerate new ventures and is also a capacity building programme for high impact entrepreneurs.
MTN Group's general manager for ecosystem development Eero Tarjanne explained in a statement yesterday that the programme is a key MTN initiative to help scale promising ideas or teams in the digital and mobile financial services space. The idea is to create and stimulate an ecosystem leveraging various MTN platforms.
Tarjanne also added that the initiative also aims to identify and attract top talent.
Solution Space said the programme is designed to support teams build scalable businesses with international potential. It added that individual participants can either explore their own business idea or join an existing venture.
